Patrol Division
The Patrol Division conducts duties around the clock to ensure safety and serve the community. The Division is responsible for responding to emergency and non-emergency calls for service which consist of investigating crimes, investigating traffic accidents, traffic control, apprehending offenders, crowd management at special events and meeting the needs of the citizens and business owners of Tooele County.
The Sheriff’s Office is responsible for providing 24-hour law enforcement presence throughout the 7,000 square mile jurisdiction. The Sheriff’s Office patrols and handles all calls for service in the unincorporated areas of Tooele County including the canyons. Each shift is commanded by a Sergeant and all crews work 12-hour shifts. In addition, the Patrol Division includes the Tooele County school crossing guards.
