Search and Rescue

Tooele County Search and Rescue Website

On July 14, 1959, the Tooele County Sheriff's Jeep Patrol otherwise known as the Tooele County Search and Rescue was organized under Sheriff Fay Gillette. The Search and Rescue have been meeting on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month since then. At these meetings they conduct training on the Utah State Search and Rescue standards. These standards include:

The Tooele County Sheriff's Search and Rescue is activated upon the Sheriff's or his designee's orders for lost or missing persons, downed aircraft, water recovery operations, public presentations and crime scenes where special equipment is needed.

Members must be physically fit, pass a basic health screening and a background investigation.
